My background
At 38 years old, I stand as a testament to the power of resilience in the face of adversity. Widowed at a young age, I carried the weight of loss with a graceful strength that serves as an inspiration to those around me. Born as a preacher’s kid, I embody the essence of my upbringing while forging my own path. As the youngest of two, my journey is marked by the interplay of tradition and individuality.
My life is further enriched by the presence of my tribe - five children (Braylynn, Adynn, Gregory, Payton, and Ryan) who are a testament to my boundless love and devotion. God, ever faithful, has not only heard the quiet cries of my heart but answered with grace beyond measure. On April 3, 2025, I joined my soul with the one it was always meant to find, Warren Jones.
My writing roots
I never set out to become a writer—but life, in all its brokenness and beauty, had a different plan. My story was forged in the fire of hardship: years marked by sexual and emotional abuse, the deep ache of widowhood, and the silent battles waged within my own mind. Somewhere along the way, I began to lose sight of my own worth, swallowed by the weight of pain and the shadows of the past.
But even in the darkest chapters, my spirit held onto something unshakable—resilience. It was that resilience, coupled with a quiet prompting from God, that led me to the page. What began as a personal release—writing through the hurt, the healing, and the hope—soon grew into a powerful calling. I decided to write a memoir, not just as a reflection of where I've been, but as a declaration of where I am going.
